We're a small team who are passionate about helping our young people to get back on track and achieve their goals.
We're really friendly, lots of fun and we like to keep things as chilled as possible. We also love a game of pool on the NXT table or a few rounds of UNO!
Katie is the Registered Manager at NXT Skills, overseeing our vocational programmes and ensuring the development and well-being of our young people. With a first-class degree from Winchester University and a background in teaching and school photography, she brings extensive knowledge and experience.
Katie’s dedication to helping young people reach their potential inspired the creation of NXT Skills. She is committed to providing top opportunities and support for our young people.
Always full of energy, Katie can usually be found singing, laughing, or offering out cups of tea and toast.
Matt is the General Manager at NXT, overseeing daily operations. With nearly 15 years of experience in design, creative, and management roles, he can usually be found in the Media Suite leading our digital media sessions.
He also provides support across all workshops, from carpentry to cooking to bricklaying.
He's a big kid at heart, and has a very dry sense of humour. He loves gaming and enjoys offering (unwanted) advice and tips on the PlayStation. Matt also enjoys a game of pool and fancies himself the best player at NXT, a claim often tested by our young people.
Izabela is Deputy Manager, playing a key role in guiding our young people through their vocational programmes and supporting their social and emotional development. With a background in Forensic Psychology and over 6 years of experience with children and young adults, she is well-equipped to handle any challenge.
Izabela is passionate about helping young people achieve their goals. She leads our Life Skills sessions with enthusiasm and oversees our catering workshops. She recently completed a Master’s degree - receiving a distinction - alongside her role at NXT. She's a true multi-tasker!
John is our Vocational Instructor at NXT, bringing a wealth of experience from his background as a former Royal Marine and civil servant. He manages our workshop and leads hands-on sessions in multi trades.
With his hands-on skills and wealth of life experience, John is dedicated to helping our young people build their confidence and abilities. Whether it’s advice, support, or just a good chat, he’s always got time to share his wisdom.
Outside of NXT, you’ll catch him either cruising on his Harley Davidson or zipping around in his Fiat 500!
Chris brings a unique and varied background to NXT in his role as a Support Worker. A former rugby player and coach, plasterer, and prison transport officer, he’s no stranger to hard work and discipline. Trained in boxing and fitness, Chris leads our fitness and boxing sessions, where his energy, enthusiasm, and good humour shine through.
With a natural ability to motivate, Chris creates a fun, supportive environment where our young people can build confidence, improve their fitness, and learn valuable life skills.
With a background working within SEN environments, Steve brings great knowledge and experience to NXT as a Support Worker. Known for his calming influence and great sense of humour, Steve can be found leading functional skills, careers, media or life skills sessions.
As a qualified outdoor skills coach, Steve also adds an adventurous side to NXT. He organises engaging offsite activities, such as trips to climbing walls and trampoline parks, helping our young people build confidence and teamwork skills in exciting new environments.
Malin is the Team NXT 'pup' and loves cuddles and kisses. She's super caring and is brilliant at forming bonds with our young people when they first arrive, helping them to feel settled.
She loves attention and will often lay on her back expectantly, waiting for her tummy to be scratched!
Although technically an adult dog, she's a giant baby and prone to getting the zoomies - which is why we'll often take her out for walks to the woods or beach during enrichment time.
